Feedback

Feedback is an important part of the Real Me Project.

Experiences and views on what’s working, what isn’t and what is needed for future goals to be met, are all the things we want to hear about.

What people say about Real Me

By asking for feedback from other young people who have worked with us, we can make changes to improve the project and the support we offer, or keep providing more of the same!

Thank you so much for everything you have done and how much help you have given me.

You have changed my perception on professionals. Now I know there are people out there who want to help.

I appreciate all your support and help…I don’t know what I would do without you to be honest.

I have plans and work to focus on now, it feels good to be earning my own money.

It feels like things are slotting into place now.

Without our work, he wouldn’t have made any changes.

Helen Kelly – Senior Operational Support Manager – Integrated Offender Management – Probation North East

“The Real Me project is heavily influenced by the work of Professor Shadd Maruna into identity and desisting from criminal behaviour, based on the premise that using a restorative approach enables people to build a more positive self-identity and get beyond the stigma associated with the label of ‘offender’ and substance misuse, unemployment etc.  In effect, it supports individuals to develop ‘The Real Me’.

The project has worked successfully with individuals to support them, particularly through transitional periods, treating each person as an individual and building upon their unique strengths to build motivation, a positive self-image, and importantly, instil hope that their story can be different.”
